Low-carbohydrate diets, such as the Atkins diet, are very popular because it is well-known that low-carbohydrate diets are more effective, in terms of fat loss, than high-carbohydrate diets.

But according to new research conducted by Johnston CS, et al, American Journal Of Clinical Nutrition. 2006 May;83(5):1055-61. Department of Nutrition,: Ketogenic low-carbohydrate diets have no metabolic advantage over nonketogenic low-carbohydrate diets.”
